Lately I’ve been seeing a lot about people who are looking to have destination weddings and escape to the sun for that perfect beach wedding. Don’t get me wrong it sounds ideal, especially right now with the rainy season upon us! However, tropical destination weddings are expensive and often not everyone can attend. That’s why I thought it would be a good idea to show some locations in B.C. that will still allow you to escape the city but are not too far from home. Even better, our Airwaves DJ’s are willing to travel to you so any of these places would be a perfect little getaway minus the major added costs. There are so many places along B.C.’s coast that are great examples of the beauty of our province and we think that you don’t need the intense tropical sun to take an absolutely stunning wedding photo on the beach. All these locations also offer accommodation so you and your guests can enjoy a little weekend escape.
Frasier River Fishing Lodge– this venue, located just outside of Vancouver, has amazing views of the mountain perfect for an outdoor wedding. Or if you prefer the simple and quaint look, move inside and wed in the large cedar log cabin.
Black Rock Oceanfront Resort– this resort located in Ucluelet BC, offers scenery of the forest as well as the ocean. Why not have your wedding here on a slightly stormy day to get the crashing waves and fog rolling in, we think it would make for some amazing photos.
Long Beach Lodge Resort– located in Tofino BC, this is a perfect spot for couples that love to surf or want a picturesque place similar to the Oregon Coast (without the exchange rate). Getting to take the ferry over and the drive to this location will make it feel even more special.
Rockwater Secret Cove Resort– Even the name of this resort sounds mysterious. Surrounded by the ocean and trees this location is beautiful for an outdoor wedding. And we saved the best part for last; this destination offers luxurious yurts to stay in, how cute!
Rowena’s Inn– Another short drive from Vancouver will take you to location five. Rowena’s Inn on the River located in Harrison Mills is perfect for any size wedding. This spot is great for a winter wedding in the snow or a summer wedding on the lawn. Guests can also stay here so the drive is worth their while.
Poets Cove Resort– The last hidden gem on our list is Poets Cove Resort and Spa on Pender Island. You can fly to this island or take a ferry and it offers a place to stay for your guests. The most beautiful lush scenery surrounding this small cove will have everyone in awe.
All of these hidden British Columbia venues offer beauty and a sense of adventure and travel without breaking the bank. You don’t have to go far to have a fun destination wedding that everyone can attend.
