A Little About DJ Mukhpreet aka Mukhii
Born into a family of artists in India, DJ Mukhpreet was immersed in classical music from an early age, developing a strong sense of rhythm and a deep appreciation for sound. He began playing percussion instruments like the Tabla, Dhol, Dholak, and Drums in his youth, and by high school, he was already accompanying performing artists.
His passion for DJing was sparked during his first visit to a club, where he instantly fell in love with the craft. In 2013, he started learning DJing as a hobby, which quickly turned into a profession. He gained early experience playing in clubs and at weddings across New Delhi for four years before moving to Canada.
In Canada, he expanded his role by hosting and DJing private parties and events, eventually becoming a resident DJ with Partyshadows Events in Surrey. Known for his crowd connection and ability to read the energy of a room, DJ Mukhi brings every event to life with his dynamic sets.
With years of experience across diverse cultures and audiences, he’s well-versed in a wide range of genres including Bollywood, Bhangra, Punjabi, Hip-Hop, EDM, House, Country, and Rock. His belief in music’s power to unite and uplift is at the heart of every performance—creating unforgettable moments on every dance floor he plays.

When we first entered the reception hall prior to the official start to the program, we were SO impressed with Mukhi’s music selection, and how it added to the ambience during the cocktail hour and throughout the evening. The entry song when Mike was coming in for the surprise really got the party going and then later in the night people were doing karaoke (totally not planned, but it was so fun). I booked with Airwaves for the dance party on the final night of our national association’s annual conference. The process was very streamlined and easy, and every person I worked with was incredibly accommodating and kind. Mukhi was our DJ, and he is such a dear man and a great DJ!
