Wedding Venues We Love

Early last week, I had the pleasure of visiting with the Catering and Events Managers up at Sparkling Hill Resort in Vernon, British Columbia. Marlene and Brianne were exactly the type of people you’d expect to meet at a 4 Diamond Resort. They were friendly, helpful, personable and extremely professional. Joining me for the trip was our new Okanagan DJ Manager and Airwaves Music Kelowna DJ Les Darroux.
Since we were at the venue over 15 times last summer, we decided it was time to get to know the managers on a more personal level and find out what we can do to ensure that our weddings there run even smoother. For all the other DJs and bands out there, the main two things we took away from the meeting was 1) Bring a dolly for your gear and 2) load in through the back. Aside from that, it’s all very straightforward and as long as you respect the Resort’s guidelines and policies, you will be invited back.
If you are planning on getting married at this event, you have two amazing options. First, the ceremony location overlooking the lake is a must. The view is one of the best I have seen in the entire valley. Inside, there is a large reception area that can easily handle 100 people. That’s the area that our DJs usually perform in. If you have a smaller wedding, there is also a space downstairs perfect for about 30 people. It is such a unique space that I was brainstorming my own events to throw in the room as we walked through.
