Get local bloggers involved

Its all about extending your reach. Getting the word out to crowds of people you don’t know and that you’ve never reached out to is key. Ya, all of your friends on Facebook know your throwing an event and are already attending or aren’t interested. Find local blogs and websites that are relevant to your event. Ask them to do a brief and positive write up. Over them incentives if they let you reach out to their following. Which could include a link to their site, which helps them, or a case of beer if you know the person. That portion is up to you.

Create a low budget video

All you need is an royalty free sound track and a smart phone and you can make a fun little promotional video for your event. It doesn’t have to be anything spectacular, unless your budget calls for it and you have funds that can allow it. People have short attention spans, and they’re just getting shorter. Not sure about you but i would prefer to watch a 2 minute video then scan a handful of choppy paragraphs giving details. Be creative with it too. It can be a fun way to make a name for your event and more importantly, yourself!
