Kamloops has some great options for music from Airwaves. We all know what songs we want and well… know were gonna hear at a wedding. Their are so many classic and even typical songs we know were going to hear. Every wedding seems to have that select handful of songs that is so cliche that we all just go along with it when it happens. But what songs should we never hear? What songs are red flags that should just be implied not to play? Well a short list of five that shouldn’t be played, that goes with out saying, are as follows…
1) Another One Bites The Dust – Queen
Not a good choice if you’re getting re-married…
2) My Heart Will Go On – Celine Dion
Seems like one you would want right? Wrong, A) Its has an incredibly sad tone and melody and B) its about a loved one dying… not ideal.
3) Gold Digger – Kanye West
Even if thats exactly what the bride is, you want to steer clear, regardless..
4) I Will Always Love You – Whitney Houston
One again, another sad toned song with an ending about death. Even the context of the movie it was in speaks to that..
5) Every Breath You Take – The Police
Another classic. Unless your band is a Police cover band, why would you want a song about constantly watching a borderline stalking a person. Obsession isn’t a good fit for a wedding.
Yes I know, these are classics. But if you actually take a step back and listen to the lyrics you’ll understand why to avoid them. I also don’t mean driving and subconsciously listening to them, I mean actually read the lyrics. You can also learn a lot from the key of the song as it sets the tone. Stay away from these old favorites in the future…
