My eclectic mixology is best described as a story of soulful-infused blends with influences in Hip Hop, RnB, Dancehall/Afrobeats, Reggaeton, Pop, EDM, and Classic Rock. I’ve always considered myself an artist at heart. My interest in music transcends mixing tunes. Growing up, I adopted my parents’ appreciation for Motown and Funk. As well, my love for Hip Hop started at a young age. It grew through my experience as a break-dancer and graffiti/portrait artist. My love for mixing hip hop is well apparent in my mixing style as a Scratch DJ also.
As a DJ, I have performed at various special events for “big name” corporate clients including Pemberton Music Festival, VGC International School, New Image College, Steve Nash Fitness World, SpinHouse, Gold’s Gym, Armani Exchange, and Hugo Boss just to name a few. As well, I have been hired each year to DJ for several government agencies for various holiday parties. Prior to the pandemic, I held a residency for approximately two years at both Moxie’s Bar & Grill Guildford and the “ILoveKickBoxing” Coquitlam studio.
Unlike the vast majority of DJ’s who have been inactive with gigs due to the pandemic, I am currently utilizing my DJ’ing skills almost daily in the hired position of Social Media Broadcaster for one of the world’s top-ranking streaming app. As such, I am connecting with a massive audience on an international scale. One of my ongoing projects on this popular app includes teaming up with Madonna’s official DJ to rock da’ party!
Over the years, I have DJ’d a multitude of events, including cultural/fusion weddings and corporate functions. I am versatile and can easily adapt my musical genre selection based on the clients’ need. For instance, I DJ’d a country wedding in a barn in Deroche, B.C. On several other occasions, I rocked the party in large banquet halls in Surrey, B.C. spinnin’ the latest Bollywood and Bhangra hits. I find wedding gigs to be highly satisfying based on the sense of satisfaction of being a vital part of the newlyweds’ special day! I treat each wedding as a cherished milestone in my DJ’ing career.
