The Geoff Peters Trio can often be found performing jazz music around Vancouver for beautiful and intimate weddings, or in local restaurants, theatres, and cafes. Geoff’s trio also plays to the swank and sophistication of Vancouver’s corporate crowd when office hours are over.
A Vancouver jazz ensemble scratches out a second long-play that is, at times, wry-witty, and at times, rye whisky. Geoff Peters Trio’s Quiet Night is part original and part cover, recorded on an old Steinway grand. It’s also an exploration of self. It entertains many philosophies but arrives at a humbling conclusion. The lads, their followers are beginning to learn, are smoothly, yet thoughtfully neurotic!
The Trio tight rope walks on the edge of jazz and pop, mainstream and creativity. What else could you expect from a city that produces jazz greats of that kind. The group follows Diana Krall, Michael Buble and others. But pianist Geoff Peters says Keith Jarret, Bill Evans and Kenny Barron are greater influences. Listenders might also detect elements of Brad Mehldau’s Trio, the Plus and Chick Corea New Trio.
Geoff and his band enjoy the depth of creative expression and ability to convey mood and emotion that jazz music allows, and is equally comfortable performing in the background for a black-tie dinner or as a feature act in a living room, grand theatre, or a wedding reception dance.
This smooth and jazzy group adds an enourmous amount of class and elegance to each and every event they perform at!
